What is a plumbed-in water dispenser?

A plumbed-in water dispenser is a system that dispenses drinking water directly for consumption. Unlike bottled or gallon-fed dispensers, it is connected directly to the building’s mains water supply.

Benefits:

  • Unlimited fresh water on demand
  • No risk of running out of water
  • No stagnant water storage
  • Water can be filtered, chilled, heated and carbonated
  • Excellent taste thanks to BRITA filtration technology

BRITA filters remove particles such as sand and other impurities that may enter through the building's plumbing system, as well as substances that can negatively affect taste. Special hygiene filters also help ensure a high level of water hygiene.

Why choose mains-connected water dispensers over bottled water?

Mains-connected water dispensers make buying mineral water a thing of the past. Hauling, stacking and rearranging crates of water? Is the sparkling water finished, and is still water currently only available at room temperature? With a BRITA mains-connected water dispenser, that’s a thing of the past. Because our water dispensers provide the right water for every taste – unlimited and whenever you like.

Cost savings

Bottled water is significantly more expensive per litre. Water from a BRITA dispenser costs only a few cents per litre, making the investment typically pay for itself quickly. Good to know: BRITA water dispensers are also available for rent.

Reduced workload, increased satisfaction

By installing tap water dispensers in your business, you can reduce the logistical burden associated with purchasing and storing crates of drinks. Thanks to the varied and straightforward range of options on offer, you can boost the satisfaction of your staff, guests or customers, who can always help themselves to fresh and delicious water tailored to their preferences.

A complete hydration solution

Would you still like to be able to serve bottled table water? No problem! We offer a wide range of reusable bottles in attractive designs, made from natural materials and which can be personalised with your logo to make them truly memorable. This allows you to make a statement and easily serve your guests your own regional water brand.

A water dispenser with a fixed connection or a gallon water dispenser?

At first glance, the main difference between water dispensers connected to the mains and those that use gallon containers is the connection to the mains water supply. This is not required for gallon-based water dispensers, as they contain a container of bottled water. On closer inspection, however, water dispensers connected to the mains offer a number of advantages:

Hygiene, freshness and taste

Whenever water is left standing for a long time, bacteria can multiply in it. Unlike with gallon bottles, water dispensers connected to the mains supply dispense only the amount needed at any given time.

Thanks to the four-stage BRITA HygienePlus system and the BRITA ThermalGate thermal bacteria barrier, the water from BRITA water dispensers is particularly hygienic.

BRITA water dispensers offer a wide variety of water types: still or sparkling, chilled, at room temperature or even hot. The integrated filtration system ensures a pleasant, fresh taste at all times.

Logistics and operating costs

With gallon bottles, you have to work out how many you need, order them, transport them, store them and organise their replacement.

Water dispensers connected directly to the mains save time, effort and space. Fresh water is always available in unlimited quantities.

Gallon water dispensers incur high long-term costs for purchasing, transport and storage. In comparison, the cost of tap water is only a fraction of that.

Sustainability

Some of the water gallons are transported over long distances. Added to this are return transport and cleaning, as well as the high amount of plastic required for the gallons.

Fixed water dispensers use tap water, which does not need to be transported in the first place.

When it comes to CO₂ emissions, BRITA water dispensers using tap water also come out on top: the reduction compared with gallon water dispensers is 64 per cent.

What is required for installation?

Apart from sufficient space, the only requirements for installing a mains-connected water dispenser are water and electricity connections at the installation site. We will, of course, take care of the installation and connection at your premises for you.

We would be happy to draw on our many years of experience to help you choose the right mains-connected water dispenser and select the most suitable location for it.
